Our Grear sandal is made in an artisanal factory on the Amalfi Coast of Italy which has been specializing in this construction for generations. I launched this Sandal in my second season of Sarah Flint and it quickly became one of our best-selling styles. The Grear is eye catching, versatile and comfortable, but what makes it so special is what’s beneath the surface.
The Grear is made in vegetable tanned vachetta calf leather which goes through an all-natural tanning process. This type of leather absorbs the environment around you and darkens and softens with time. It really creates a dynamic aesthetic and one that is specific to the individual. Additionally, the edges of the upper leather and outsoles are all hand-painted, making each pair truly unique.
Before I had my brand I loved the look of sandals with ankle ties, but hated how they never stayed tied and always seamed to cut into my skin. This is why I chose to use soft cotton ties on the Grear.
It’s all in the details.
