The big reveal: Sarah’s wedding day! Read on to discover the gorgeous photos and sweet little moments.
From her sweeping dress to her stunning shoes, we’re swooning over the details from Sarah’s intimate DIY wedding.
Sarah got married on November 28th, 2020, at her family home in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. Wedding guests were a small group of immediate family, which of course included their two English cream golden retrievers, Oscar and Jack.
Sarah chose a sweeping Reem Acra gown for the ceremony and reception. Incorporating two of her favorite design details, she added covered buttons at the back, along with a custom sash and gathered bow. As we firmly believe: the bigger the bow, the better.
As Sarah’s wedding date shifted from June to November, it became clear that a sleeveless dress was no longer the most practical choice. To account for the weather, Sarah ordered extra fabric from Reem Acra and decided to design her own custom coat.
Inspired by 19th-century silhouettes, she envisioned a shorter coat to give the illusion of a bustle, and kept it open at the front to showcase the gown’s gorgeous pleating. Small shoulder pads emphasized her waist, defined by the sash which could be worn both over her coat and on her dress.
Dreaming of something romantic, whimsical, and vintage-inspired, Sarah reimagined the Parker 50 in water-resistant white satin, with its polka-dot mesh topped with hand-cut leather flowers and metallic leaves.
She also designed this style with her signature comfort features: a block heel to prevent sinking into the grass, arch support for her walk down the aisle, and extra padding for every dance. (We don’t mind saying these are one of the most stunning pairs we’ve ever made.)
