Sarah’s Travels to the Amalfi Coast, Italy

I have a special soft spot for the Amalfi Coast, where I spent a few days in Italy this spring. Not only is it where we make our Mirjanas, Sacchettos, and Grears, but it’s home to some of the most sweeping, dramatic views I’ve ever seen.

The Activities

Every time I’m in Ravello, I visit the gardens at the Hotel Villa Cimbrone. My dream is to come here and paint the lemon trees, the dripping wisteria, and the manicured hedges that surround the property. Perhaps most stunning, though, is the enormous terrace that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Afterwards, we drove to the beach at Cetara, and I couldn’t help but take a few shoe photos (that’s the Cetara Tower in the background).

The Food

The theme of my meals: cheese. We stopped at Unica Caseifico Bio cheesemakers in Salerno and ordered a delicious charcuterie board with mozzarella, prosciutto, olives, and pickles. Then for dinner, we ordered quite a few pies at Pignalosa Pizzeria, made all the tastier with a nice glass of red wine.
