In celebration of the Isabella Huffington x Sarah Flint Emma pump, the two sat down to talk about the inspiration behind the shoe, what it was like to work together, and why they decided to donate 100% of the proceeds to She Should Run, a nonprofit dedicated to providing the encouragement and resources women need to run for public office.

Isabella Huffington x Sarah Flint Emma Pump
Emma $395.00
Q: Why engage an artist like Isabella to reimagine the Emma, a customer favorite?
Sarah Flint: I’ve been a fan of Isabella’s work since the beginning and couldn’t be more excited to finally share this collaboration! She’s a powerhouse in the art world and embodies the kind of woman who wears Sarah Flint shoes. Working with her creative nature to reinvent a shoe I’ve designed (not to mention a style our customers adore) has been so much fun!
Q: Would you say your take on collage art reflects your personal style?
Isabella Huffington: I love bright colors and busy prints. I love color blocking. I wear a lot of floral prints and butterfly jewelry. I have a tendency to not match. So yes, I definitely mimic my art!
All proceeds from the limited-edition style will be donated to support the She Should Run initiative of seeing 250,000 women run for office by 2030.

Q: What was the design process like for this collaboration, given collage is a new medium for you?
SF: We knew we wanted to integrate Isabella’s signature medium into this collaboration from the start. The blue butterflies felt like the perfect representation of our shared aesthetic; mixing power and femininity, joyful color and a classic silhouette.
Q: Where do you draw inspiration?
IH: I’m inspired by everyday life. By the beauty that’s all around us. Beauty that’s so prevalent that it often doesn’t register. I love flowers, textiles, birds, butterfly. My favorite place to draw inspiration is flower shops and gardens.

Q: How does this collaboration give back and how did you decide to partner with She Should Run?
SF: We’re thrilled to be working with She Should Run, an organization promoting leadership and encouraging women from all walks of life to run for office. All proceeds from the limited-edition style will be donated to support their initiative of seeing 250,000 women run for office by 2030.
Q: What does “walk like a woman” mean to you?
IH: Walk like a woman means to fully own, embrace, and celebrate who you are. Both the parts you like and the ones you don’t. It means to show up everyday and be unapologetically and proudly yourself.
Q: What is your go-to everyday shoe style?
IH: I walk a lot so comfort is key. I’ve gotten too many blisters trying to look stylish. I wear a lot of flats or comfy healed boots. What I love about this shoe is that it doesn’t sacrifice comfort in the name of style or style in the name of comfort.
